The
City Council is composed of Mayor
Gary Strack, Council MembersTony
Cardenas, Darlene Dickison, and Dave Linnet. They're
elected by the citizens of the City of Corning
as their representatives to make the legislative
and policy decisions of the City, subject to the
provisions of City Ordinances, Resolutions, California
State Law, the Government Code and the Constitution
of the United States of America.

The City Council appoints the City Manager who
serves at their pleasure and who implements Council
Policy. The Mayor and City Councilmembers also
represent the City at official functions and in
relationship with other organizations.
The Mayor is elected by the voters every two years,
and the City Councilmembers are elected for four
year terms that overlap with the Mayor's term.
Elections are held in November in even numbered
years (2012, 2014, etc.). The City Council meets
at 7:30 pm on the second and fourth Tuesdays of
each month in the City Council Chambers at City
Hall, corner of Solano Street and Third Street.
