Public Works
The Public Works Department personnel are responsible for the construction and maintenance of the City's vital infrastructure which serve all City residents and include City Streets, sidewalks, parks, water system, hydrants, sewer collection system, storm drains, and bridges. They are also responsible for the maintenance of City Buildings and street trees. They provide a variety of other services to the residents of Corning such as assistance with Community Events, and emergency response to City water/sewer line problems.
The Public Works Department oversees and is responsible for various sub-departments such as:
- Airport
- Engineering
- Streets
- Water
- Waste Water

Standby 24/7 emergency services are provided to residences within the City of Corning for problems located in the public right of way that are an emergency in nature. Typical emergency calls consist of: Waterline breaks, Sewer stoppages, storm events like street flooding or fallen trees in road.
