RECREATION:

Fun Run:

The Corning Recreation Department held their first ever Fun Run, “Christmas in July “partnering with American Fit Chix and it was an absolute blast. It was held on Saturday at Northside Park for kids ages 2-16, the kids were split up into three age groups and ran the obstacle course as groups, obstacles included gunnysack hop, fitness stations (ie: high knees, push-ups etc.), a water balloon obstacle, a slip and slide, and so much more. Leis with wooden medals were given to all kids that crossed the finish line by Santa in Board Shorts. The Corning Recreation Department would like to thank American Fit Chix for partnering with us, we would also like to thank the Corning Manta Rays Swim Team, for holding a pancake breakfast that morning along with Corning Sweets for having snow cones available and SB’s Lemonade for their fresh squeezed lemonade. Last but definitely not least, the Corning Volunteer Fire Department for always creating a fun environment and keeping the kids cool while competing.  Watch for our next fun run event coming in October.
